All of our self catering holiday lodges are situated around the hamlet of Sandyhills (Barend Holiday Village) on the lovely Solway Coast of Dumfries and Galloway. From luxury Traditional Scandinavian 'A' frame holiday lodges set in the parkland of Barend Holiday Village with views south over Sandyhills Bay in the Solway Firth towards the Lake District to traditional stone built Galloway country cottages nestling down in the hamlet of Sandyhills - a stone’s throw from the beautiful Sandyhills beach.

In Dumfries and Galloway you can experience many landscapes, the Galloway Forest Park with Red Deer and Wild Goats, rolling farmland and sheltered lochs with Red Kites and Herons, from its long coastline with spectacular headlands and cliffs to sheltered sandy bays. From walking on Sandyhills beach to mountain biking on the nearby 7stanes mountain bike trails, golfing or fishing, we have it all. So much to do and see - or just relax and take in the fresh peaceful Galloway air. All of our Galloway Country Cottages self-catering holiday lodges at Barend Holiday Village in Dumfries and Galloway are dog friendly, furnished and equipped to a high standard; all have partial double glazing and are fully centrally heated - ensuring warm and comfortable holidays throughout the year. Kitchens are equipped to cook to a good standard with scales, hand blenders and ample cutlery, crockery and utensils. Holiday patio furniture is available at all, barbecues at some.
